Separate red and green on/off switches each control one branch of this US two-way extension splitter. One NEMA 5-15P source feeds two NEMA 5-15R receiving sockets, with copper conductors and PVC insulation/jacket in the requested cable construction.
Specify the independently switched connections
Identify the actual equipment connected to each receiving socket. Keep the red/green branch-control arrangement with those two physical equipment positions.
Compare the source plug and both socket forms with the actual mating connections. Include each branch route and connector body in the installation drawing.
Choose wire and branch reach
Requested three-core constructions include SVT, SJT or SJTW with 18AWG, 16AWG or 14AWG conductors. Agree the actual wire family and gauge for the copper/PVC assembly being ordered.
Select a requested 1ft, 2ft, 3ft or 5ft reach and confirm the overall and individual branch dimensions. Retain a white or black finish request with that same selected wire and route.
Set the complete switched assembly rating
Confirm the actual complete operating voltage/current and each switch rating for the requested 125V configuration. Keep those electrical requirements with the chosen source, sockets and wire.
Provide the combined connected demand across both branches as part of the splitter specification. The actual complete rating and switch arrangement should cover the receiving equipment being connected.
For a PC, laptop or home-appliance connection request, settle both mates, branch controls, wire, reach and load together. This defines the selected two-way lead around its actual equipment positions and the operating requirements of the complete switched assembly.
