Cable Enquiry FAQs

ANSWERS FOR A CLEARER ENQUIRY

Find the next detail to confirm

Start with the product and configuration you need. These questions explain how to prepare a wire, cable or connection-product enquiry, and where to find the detailed checklist. Product-specific terms are confirmed in the actual quotation.

01 · PRODUCT SELECTION

Choosing a starting point

Where should I start if I do not know the cable name?

Describe the equipment, installation and connections. Browse by application to find a relevant starting range, then compare the actual product details. A photo of the receiving connection and a drawing can help make the request precise.

What information should a basic cable enquiry contain?

Send the product link, conductor and insulation requirement, nominal size, core arrangement, length, quantity and destination. Add the two connection details for an assembly. The selection guide provides a complete specification checklist.

Does a material name establish the cable rating?

Use the rating and construction stated for the selected product, together with the project requirements. Silicone, PVC or XLPE is one part of the specification; it does not identify every dimension, rating, installation condition or approval.

Can I select a conductor size from the outside cable diameter?

Keep these as separate dimensions. Provide the required nominal conductor size in AWG or mm² and specify any outside-diameter limit separately. Include the source drawing or equipment requirement if the distinction is unclear.

Are all products in one application category interchangeable?

No. Application categories help you discover relevant product families. They do not replace the comparison of construction, dimensions, ratings, interfaces and project requirements for the selected item.

CATALOGUE ROUTES

Finding the right product and its original details

How can I find products by construction?

Start with Products and choose the wire, industrial cable, power cord or connection-product family that matches the requested form. Follow its subcategory to compare actual products.

Can I browse by application instead?

Use Browse by Application to start with building, equipment, electronics, vehicle, solar or data-related requirements. The category is a discovery route; compare the selected product specification before choosing.

Where can I compare insulation options?

Use Browse by Material for the silicone, PVC or XLPE routes. Open the candidate product pages and compare the actual insulation description, dimensions and documented conditions against the same project requirement.

Where can I compare conductor options?

The Copper & Tinned-Copper Options route gathers relevant products. Check each product's conductor-material field and selected variant; keep alternatives and nominal sizes separate.

Why does one product appear in more than one collection?

A product can match a product-type family, an application and a material route at the same time. These are different ways to find the same catalogue item, so collection counts should not be added as a unique product total.

How do I find a smaller product subfamily?

Some small subfamilies remain in a broader related product range. Use the parent collection and the site's search with the relevant product term, then check the resulting product title and specification. Not every narrow term has a separate menu page.

Where is the selected product's original specification?

Open the actual product page and review its parameter list, description and selectable options. Copy that product link and identify the required variant in the RFQ. Ask about any mismatch between those fields and the drawing before confirming the build.

Where can I see the real product photographs?

Use the gallery on the actual product page. Category and guide visuals are illustrations for browsing. A product gallery may also contain series references, so confirm the selected configuration against the written specification and drawing.

02 · CONFIGURATION AND DRAWINGS

Confirming the exact build

Does every photograph show the configuration I selected?

Some images illustrate a product series with several possible configurations. State the required core count, sheath and connections in your enquiry. The actual configuration is subject to the confirmed drawing and selected specification.

Can I enquire about another length or connector arrangement?

Yes, send the requested change with the catalogue reference or drawing. The configuration, feasibility and commercial conditions need review for the actual request; the enquiry itself is not confirmation that every arrangement is available.

What should a connector drawing identify?

Include the mating interface, relevant dimensions, contact count and pin assignment, locking detail, cable exit direction and measurement points. Mark the drawing revision. For a DC lead, include the required polarity as well as connector dimensions.

What if the title, image and parameter list appear different?

Identify the difference and ask for clarification before order confirmation. Do not assume one field overrides the others. Send the required configuration in writing so the product reference and drawing can be reviewed together.

How should a splitter or branched cable be specified?

State the trunk and each branch length, all receiving connections, core allocation and pinout. A labelled drawing is useful because one overall length does not describe every part of a branched assembly.

03 · QUOTATION AND SAMPLES

Preparing the commercial discussion

How do I request a quotation?

Use the contact page or email [email protected]. Include the product reference, selected build, quantity and destination. Attach the controlling drawing and identify any required document or inspection criteria.

Is there one minimum order quantity for the entire catalogue?

Minimum quantity should be confirmed for the selected product and requested configuration. Include the quantity you need, and show separate quantities for different sizes, colours or assemblies.

Can I request a sample?

Include the sample quantity and what you want to evaluate. Availability, specification, charges and timing need confirmation for the actual request. A sample discussion does not establish a universal free-sample policy.

What should I check in the quotation?

Compare the product reference, drawing revision, configuration, quantity, price basis, sample arrangements and delivery terms. Resolve open points before confirming an order. Keep the agreed quotation with the technical record.

What happens if my specification changes?

Identify the revised detail and drawing version, then request an updated review. A change to length, conductor, connector, quantity or documents may require the original quotation and configuration to be reconsidered.

04 · DELIVERY AND DOCUMENTS

Questions to settle for the order

How are timing and delivery arrangements confirmed?

Provide the destination and your requested date. Timing, transport, packing and delivery responsibilities are confirmed for the actual enquiry and agreed quotation. This website does not set one delivery time for every cable.

Can I request a particular certificate or test document?

List the exact document, standard and required scope in your RFQ. Ask for availability and applicability to the selected construction. A product-family description or illustration is not proof that every option holds the same certification.

Where are inspection or quality-claim terms recorded?

Discuss required inspection, acceptance criteria and any quality-claim arrangements before order confirmation. These need to be part of the applicable commercial agreement; no general consumer-return policy is implied by this enquiry guide.
